A mosquito net is a type of meshed curtain that is circumferentially draped over a bed or a sleeping area, to offer the sleeper barrier protection against bites and stings from mosquitos, flies, and other pest insects, and thus against the diseases they may carry.
Window mosquito net also blocks the entrance for insects and lizards along with mosquitoes. Using a mosquito net in the window is helpful against diseases that can be caused due to mosquito bites such as Malaria, Dengue, Zika, Yellow fever or Chikungunya.
Mosquito nets can be hung above a bed or crib to protect against mosquito bites. Adults and children should sleep under a mosquito net if air conditioned and screened rooms are not available. When using a mosquito net: Tuck the net under the mattress to keep the mosquitoes out.
